Interactive Communication Design: Final Design

Hi

finaldesign

This was my final design and i had gone with the navigation being in the top header along with the logo.

  • Logo – The logo which i will be creating is for my own personal branding in the subject visual communications and i thought it would be great since im branding myself as this, it would be only sensible to implement this into my portfolio website.
  • Navigation – This will be a simple navigation bar where you click on the options and it will drag you to that page. Simple and not complicated.
  • Computer and the subjects – I really like this idea that’s why its actually in my portfolio website because it describes that i use computers etc. So i created a desktop like situation where the computer will be showing what subjects i do where the user will be able to access this by just clicking on it.
  • Keyboard – the keyboard is just there for show .

Interactive Communication Design: Design 2

Hi

ScrollingPageEffect

On my second design i thought i would try and copy the scrolling effect which i really like but thought to myself this is high end stuff and even some top web developers can’t even do this. The scrolling effect is when, you launch a site the first page is basically on long page cut into different sections. so when you click lets say ‘Sport’ it will scroll down to that section on the same page and show the content on their. I think its a really good idea for a portfolio because you can have the subjects as the first page and each section a different subject. The only negative thing about this is that if i get to year 3 the page will get longer and longer and the content will get bigger and bigger and this full website will grow in the number of megabytes that are held, which means it will take even longer to load up the age on a basic connection which is not good for the user.

Interactive Communications Design: Design 1

Hi,

FirstPortfolio

On my first design i like the idea of having my navigation bard attached to my header so that the use instantly thinks that it will be at the top of the page, which it will be. on this design i was only testing the navigation but i like the look of it on the top, then all i was left to do is create a logo that what show me off and then have the navigation style as like that with each button being separated off by a dark L shape. But remember this was only a idea and i had plenty more to come.

Flash Website – Design

Hi,

When we was given the assignment of creating a website in flash i thought along with others that it would be a great idea to model my flash website design around my portfolio website i am doing for interactive communication design, but throwing in some flash elements that i have learnt and you will see throughout my planning of this website.

Here is a template of what my flash website will look like :

  • Keyboard – the keyboard is just there for show but in various ideas i had i could use this and create buttons for each letter and it would actually be like they are typing on another keyboard. But i thought this would be time consuming.

and i am thinking of more ideas to implement some flash elements i learnt off the lessons we had

Interactive Communication Design Research

Hi,

When i first started out on planning my Portfolio Website i thought i would do some Research. Here are a couple portfolio websites i have researched and really like:

  1. I really like the first ones header, I think im going to implement the expanding header into my designs because it gives a reliability to the website for the user knowing that if he scrolls up to the top that he will hit the header on every page.
  2. On the second one i like that the navigation bar is apart of the header not below on other websites and that the logo is beside it, also indicating that if the user gets lost within the web page he can just scroll to the top of the header to see the nav bar there also. Its Accessible!!
  3. I really do like the last one and this is the one i would most likely to implement this into my website is that they have an expanding header and footer with content in both of them. In the header their is the logo and navigation bar and they is space in the middle for all my content.

Thanks

Humber Bridge Project

Hi Mark,

I have decided that after our tutorials last week i am going to stick with the Humber Bridge project because it symbolizes Hull, and used to be the largest expansion bridge in the world. When i talked to you, you said that various people have done the Humber Bridge project before but have only taken shots from this side of the River Humber. But this is where i come to a great advantage i can drive so it would be with no problem for me to go to Barton and take shots from that side. Also you said instead of just taking different angles of the bridge why don’t you actually stand on the bridge and take shots off it which i will show in various photos in my portfolio.
